Going from the highest fretted note on the guitar to the lowest open within four measures, is one of the fun features about playing this piece. There is a strong boogie rhythm here. If you can play the fifth and sixth measures like Lead Belly did, you can make it a step above a normal blues phrase.

Huddie first stayed in the New York area in 1935. After a brief return to Shreveport, La. his home, he moved to New York and lived there or on the road for the rest of his life. The lyrics are the sung in the person of a man not used to big cities and it celebrates New York's unique urban life.
